The custom of Cambodian weddings

In Cambodia, there is a stunning marriage ceremony. It lasts 3 days on average. The wedding wears a number of stunning outfits. Thankfully, we were invited to one of them.

In Cambodia in the past, there were a lot of arranged marriages. However, today’s younger spouses make their marriage choices on their own. They continue to observe classic wedding ceremonies, though.

Family members from the groom’s part arrive at the couple’s home with boxes of grapes on the night of the marriage. These are truly works of art because they contain some varieties of fruit!

This is a way to express their thanks and like. They also give drink to the souls of their ancestors on this day. In this way, they ask the grandparents to bless the ceremony and inform them of it.

The groom and his entourage arrived at the bride’s home and met with the girl’s parents and arranged gifts for them ( or dowry ). They finally settled into their chairs. The bride’s home set up her seat facing north in the middle of the room.

In the ceremony known as” Bang Chhat Madaiy,” the partners accolades their parents. They thank their parents for raising them and carrying them out to this day. Additionally, they say they will honor and take good care of their parents. The few drapes golden-yellow ponchos over their parents during this festival. They even listen to the marriage host’s conversation, which serves as a reminder of their new responsibilities.
